Ellenwood Lake

Nestled between two lakes in the heart of southern Nova Scotia, this 114 ha (280 acre) park offers offers opportunities for sport fishing, hiking, paddling and swimming. 

Located in an International Starlight Foundation designated Starlight Reserve it is a great spot for stargazing.

Glenwood

A quiet place on Rickers Lake, bordering Hwy 103. Picnic tables scattered beneath hardwoods with view of lake. Located at the junction of Hwy 3 and Hwy 103.

Mavillette Beach

A 1.5 km (1 mi) long sandy beach backed by fragile marram grass-covered dunes. Extensive sand flats exposed at low tide. Supervised swimming (July-August STC). Please use boardwalks to protect the dunes when accessing the beach. No picnic tables.

Port Maitland Beach

Yarmouth & Acadian Shores - A one km sand and cobble beach backed by a grassy picnic area. Supervised swimming (July – August/STC). The nearby wharf and fishing boats are favourite subjects for painters and photographers. From Hwy 101 take Exit 33 to Route 1 and travel 4 km (2.5 mi).

Accessible Facilities

Smugglers Cove

Picturesque day-use park overlooking a small cove reputedly used by rum runners in the early 1900s. The cove fills with water at high tide. There is no access to the water.
