Rissers Beach Provincial Park sustained extensive damage from post-tropical storm Lee in September 2023. The Little Rissers camping area and the day-use area had the most significant damage. 

We are able to open the day-use area of the park and all 42 campsites at North Rissers on May 17 for the long weekend. We will start taking reservations for these sites on April 3. There will be access to the beach.

28 campsites in the wooded area in Little Rissers will also be available for booking later in the season once we have completed repairs. Initially, this section will show as “closed” on our booking system. We will share information on our website and social media once we know the date when people can start booking these sites.

The 29 oceanside campsites in Loop B of Little Rissers are unsafe to re-open. The storm greatly impacted the beach and this camping area continues to experience storm surges. We are looking at next steps for this area. Planning, design, consultation and a management plan will be forthcoming over the coming fiscal year.
