Dinosaurs, Volcanoes, and Glaciers, Oh My!

Five Islands Provincial Park, Colchester CountySaturday, August 17, 2019 11am

Five Islands Provincial Park preserves rocks from the age of dinosaurs and the last major climate change. Join Dr. Howard Donohoe, a retired geoscientist, as he interprets the 200 million year history of Five Islands Park, from the age of dinosaurs to the last period of glaciation and climate change (60 000 years ago) to the present day. This was truly a land of contrasts 190 million years ago—gangs of dinosaurs, floods of basalt, dessert conditions, and seasonal rivers. During this walk you will see how geoscientists collect data and interpret the earth. This will be fun for the entire family. For information email museum@novascotia.ca
