The drinking water at Risser's Beach Provincial Park is subject to a chemical advisory and is posted as not safe for drinking or cooking due to an exceedance of the Maximum Allowable Concentration (MAC) for Manganese. Staff are working to remediate the issue.
To minimize inconvenience a tap has been installed at the dishwashing station near the North Rissers comfort station for campers to access potable water.
Campers are still encouraged to bring their own water for consumption.
Provincial camping parks water systems are operated and tested in accordance with Canadian Drinking Water Standards as regulated by Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change. More information can be found on the NSECC website https://novascotia.ca/nse/water/drinking.water.asp
